2009 Reunion
General Jim Record

In Jim’s Honor

One of the truly great Generals we did know,
The best of his persona he always did show,
With Jim Record there was never a doubt,
It was always the good that he was about.

When you examine the life Jim did live,
The very core of himself he always did give,
Knew with confidence what had to be done,
And then completed vital tasks once begun.

In travel through life he was firm, resolute,
His military career was beyond all repute,
For duty to nation he answered each call,
Among all his peers a leader who stood tall.

Now with memories of Jim Record I engage,
As I try to express my thoughts on the page,
In Jim’s honor these words to rhyme write,
To try ease the sadness I am feeling tonight.

Yes Jim Record was a leader quite rare,
A strong person and pilot extraordinaire,
Life with purpose and unassuming mystique,
He was a man among men --- quite unique.
